Starliner Launch Campaign Begins 45 Days Ahead of Liftoff
Atlas V Rocket and Starliner Spacecraft to be Stacked at Launch Pad
Liftoff Targeted for May 6, 2024
Forty-five days before the scheduled liftoff, the launch campaign for the Starliner spacecraft has commenced. The United Launch Alliance (ULA) will begin stacking an Atlas V rocket at Space Launch Complex 41.
The launch of the Atlas V rocket and Boeing's CST-100 Starliner spacecraft is targeted for 12:25 p.m. EST on May 6, 2024. The spacecraft will carry out a critical test flight to demonstrate its capabilities before carrying astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS).
Boeing will conduct its first-ever Starliner astronaut mission for NASA as part of this critical test flight. The successful completion of the mission is crucial for Boeing to secure a contract with NASA for regular missions to the ISS, carrying NASA and NASA-sponsored crew members.
