SEOUL, South Korea — Min Yoon-gi, better known as Suga, a member of the renowned K-pop group BTS, has issued a formal apology for driving an electric scooter while under the influence of alcohol. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, August 3, has sparked widespread concern and disappointment among BTS's devoted fanbase.

According to a statement released by the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul, Suga was pulled over by authorities for riding an electric scooter without a valid license. A subsequent breathalyzer test confirmed that he had a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) above the legal limit. The 31-year-old rapper has since been charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and could face up to one year in prison or a fine of up to 10 million won (approximately $8,200).

In a handwritten letter posted on the group's official fan community platform, Suga expressed his deep remorse and apologized for causing concern and disappointment. "I am truly sorry for my actions," he wrote. "I understand the seriousness of what I have done and take full responsibility for my mistakes."

Suga's apology has been met with mixed reactions from fans. Some have expressed their anger and disappointment, while others have shown support for the singer and urged him to learn from his experience. BTS has a reputation for having a close-knit bond with their fanbase, known as ARMY, and Suga's apology is seen as a sign of his commitment to maintaining that bond.
